Premier trout fisheries in the North East. It is located within an extensive area of picturesque parkland just off the A68 at Witton-le-Wear. Our aim is to provide first class fishing within a beautiful peaceful setting. The fishery offers fly fishing on two lakes of approximately 3 acres and 5 acres, and a small ½ acre bait lake ideal for junior anglers. All the lakes are very fertile and support a prolific and varied range of aquatic life including olives, damsel, sedge, caenis, corixae, shrimp, snail, stickleback and minnow. The rich feeding encourages the trout to feed naturally from the beginning of the season, particularly on the abundant hatches of buzzer, olives and damsel.
The lakes are very well stocked and restocked on a regular basis to maintain a high stocking density with quality rainbow and blue trout from 2lb with the present record standing at 25lb 12oz. <<<wow!

Facilities: 5/5

They're top notch including kitchen food, shop, shower block and even a conference room.

Quality of fishing: 3/5

It's a toughie really coz trout fishing is a specialised thing so you can get frustrated at the lack of takes. It's definitely a ball breaker.

Disabled Facilities 4/5

There is plenty of space for disabled anglers to fish, a lovely complex.

Fish Stocks: 2/5

There is massive room for more stock but due to the type of fishery this is, I 'spose they restock when they feel it's getting low.

Very friendly and always happy to help, lend a hand or talk you through a few things.

They have security but this isn't the type of fishery you get the every day idiot so to be honest they don't need much.

Overall: 4/5

(Now under new management) Not been since it was taken over, this was for 2013 after the floods we suffered the lakes overflowed into each other so fish could be anywhere. Facilities are top notch including kitchen food, shop, shower block and even a conference room. Getting to the venue is the problem, it is uneven and riddled with pot holes. Under £100 a year membership.
