I've done some product reviews before, and I'm more than happy to put them back on here but how about you tell me what you want reviewed?
I'm not going to be able to get my hands on some Basia's so don't be be silly Willis! But if you're thinking of buying a Spomb and want an HONEST opinion on it then I'll do it. If you want a review on some end tackle of normal stuff just let me know...obviously the more obscure the longer it might take me to do the review but I will do my very best to do it.
So, start sending your requests to [email protected]
I shall put you on this page straight away, Who you are, what you wanted tested and the outcome and video.
Please be aware I'm not associated with any fishing company so all my reviews are my honest opinion

Shakespeare Mach xs power front drag £35
I bought these from Go Outdoors, they looked lovely and I wanted to go a lot smaller in reels as the big pits were starting to annoy me as they are too heavy and big.
I had them about a year and not a foot wrong did these reels do, until the handle wouldn't tighten up properly. I took them back to Go Outdoors and they swapped them for brand new one's no questions asked so big + for Go Outdoors.
For people that think you need Big Pit reels £200 + with 18lb line to catch decent fish, you're very much mistaken. I've had carp over 20lb and catfish over 20lb on these reels and they performed beautifully. So if you're looking for a decent front drag reel at a decent price these are def a reel I'd recommend.

Daiwa BR Black Widow 5000's from £45
I was in the market for a new set of reels. I don't like the big pit reels as I'm not fishing for 80lb fish in France, so I wanted a nice looking reel that was practical, not to big and smooth.
This is a beautiful reel to use, I picked up 2 reels for £90 and I'm so glad I chose these.
They are the smoothest reel I've used and they've not put a foot wrong. I'd recommend these with bells on.
The deeper spool means they hold more line aswell at 12lb - 410yds, 14lb - 340yds, 17lb - 250yds and they are a lot lighter than the big pits but in all honesty who's going to be casting 410 yards on your local lake..yeah, no one!

Shimano Long Cast £80
These reels were by far the best I have ever used. Great line lay out and can hold tons of line. I could cast quite a distance with these with no effort what so ever. Yes, they were a bit heavy and a bit expensive but I didn’t care at the time as I fell in love. They were smooth no matter what I put them through. I even like the colour as they weren’t the standard silver or black and it broke my heart to sell them all those years ago. Hoping to get another set soon.
You'll be very hard pushed to find these in main stream shops. I'd suggest you look on eBay

Korda SubLine £19.99p
The worst line I've used..some may be shocked but this is shockingly bad. It's like rope on your spool, it comes off in clumps, the line lay is awful, takes ages to sink even though it's like rope. Just awful and for the price they are taking the mick. Look elsewhere people.

Sufix Excelon about £10 (if you can find it)
This was my original line till I swapped over to Korda Subline, what a muppet! I soon switched back and I've never had a snap off or a problem with this line and it's one of the cheaper lines on the market. The trouble is finding it. I use the 12lb or 15lb green.
Good luck finding it, would massively recommend this.

TFG Force 8 2 Man Bivvy From £135
Designed by Matt Hayes, I cannot rave enough about this product.
There was a technical hitch with the old ones that the pole snapped when you bent it over, but that was rectified and is now a amazing bivvy.
They boast you can put it up in 20 seconds, that is true but after practice. It took me 30 mins the first time, it's very spacious with a built in ground sheet. It has a section at the front where you can put your wet gear also has a 2 door system with mozzy net.
These have actually gone up in price since they first came out as they are very sort after. I would very much recommend this product.

Fox Easy Dome £399
This was the first bivvy I ever bought.
For me being little and having back problems I needed something to go up easy and this did that. There was no threading poles through, no trying to slot poles into each other and no screwing things in. It was a case of take out the bag and clip the poles together and to take down was even easier, pull down on the clips and down it went.
Yes, it was a little bit heavier than I wanted but can’t have it all.

Daiwa Mission Overnighter From £50
The Daiwa Mission Overnighter shelter is lightweight (Weighs only 5.5kg) compared to some I have lifted. It is very strong and sturdy and holds up well in strong winds. It is a one man with a lot of room for a bed chair and all your other bits and bobs including your rod bag. This shelter does have the extended sides which is very handy in the winds. It comes with storm poles, pegs and a ground sheet which is easy to attach and detach and very easy to wipe down. The Dimensions: 230cm wide and 150cm tall when fully erect; a convenient 167cm when folded.
Well worth the money.

Daiwa Mission Overwrap £39.99
Obviously like me after getting the Diawa mission overnight shelter, now the time to get the overwrap what i feel is a must in winter times.
This is very light weight but don’t let that fool you. When put on it turns the shelter into a 1 man bivvie. It’s a clear panel on the door as well as a cover that can cover the clear bit.
It has two straps so you can have the one to do the outer bit to have just the clear door and the other strap to keep the door open. It has two zips on the door so you can have one open or both. It is easy to fold down and put back into its only little bag

JRC Heavy Duty Tent Pegs from £15
A must really, we all know trying to get the normal pegs in hard ground is a nightmare. They bend, they snap and are only good for a couple of uses. These you can use again and again. Yes, to some maybe a little pricey for an initial outlay but trust me you wont regret buying these.

Buzz bar and bobbing o rings
£1.95!!
I was just having a look around the net when i came across these little beauties and instantly bought some as they was dirt cheap so worst case scenario id only lost a couple of quid.
They are a simple thing really they are rubber rings that go in between parts of your set up (bobbins or buzz bars) that give a little splash of colour.
They are very easy to put on and they come in a variety of colour's so you can either go super bright or dark i opted for the brighter colour's.
I went for the pink but as i didn't realize how chunky my bars were and although the rings fit they were the wrong size but they do come in a bigger size its just that i'm a tit, i've tried the yellow/purple and orange and they all look really good, i've showed a few friends already and they've already saved the page.
The price? £2 even the tightest of anglers can afford that, amazing value and that's why i've put it on the amazing value tackle page
i'm pleased with my find

Delkim Eve From £50
I've had these alarms for a long while and they have never let me down. I've dropped these, dropped them in lakes etc and they just keep going.
They are about £50+ but if you look about you can pick them up cheaper. I managed to get mine for £60 for the 2.
Delkim have always been the market setter in alarms in my eyes and with the attachments you can get for them they have always got to be looked at as a purchase, I would highly recommend these alarms.
They do have more expensive alarms but for me these do the job fine.

Delkim Night Light pro and duo carb
The Night Light Pro's are about £25 quid each and I was very lucky and had these bought for me, these are lovely and attach underneath your Delkim alarms in my case Eve's. I understand to some people this is a luxury and I would tend to agree. There are a lot of swingers out there a lot cheaper but it is a nice addition to people that use Delkim Alarms.
I can't fault them they've worked now for years and I've never had a problems with them.

The duo carb which are "Carbon Fibre" if you look about you can get for about £15 each, again I got these bought for me and as above I can see them being a luxury which again I tend to agree but as above, I can't fault them. They haven't broken or had any faults with them and they have been through the mill a few times and bashed about.
Although they are carbon fibre they do look flimsy but they are rock 'ard and solid and surprisingly flexible, I'd def recommend them.

Safe-D Carbon Snag Ears From £14 each
Another addition to the Delkim range is the snag ears, again these were bought for me, these seem to have taken the market by storm when they first come out and with the rest of the Delkim gear it's carbon fibre.
The plate you see in the picture replaces your old one where you insert your batteries and the ears themselves slot into the grooves.
They are solid and again I can't fault them. The only problem I did find is one of my ears went walkies one day and that was due to it slipping out its housing. A small black ear on a fishing bank is virtually impossible to see but I was lucky.

Gardner ATT Silent's From £70
I’ve been using ATT for a while now and I thought to myself "Wow, they are small" and was worried about my rods fitting in there but I had nothing to worry about. They're lightweight and don’t take up much room where ever you want to store them. They are water tight and can handle freezing conditions too. The other good part about these are that there are no buttons on these alarms so no messing about. All you have to do is take the hard case off the alarm and they're switched on and put the hard case back on the alarm and they're switched off. The receiver is small, lightweight and fits in anywhere too.
They are easy to program to the alarms and also can change the tone and make it vibrate. You can get them in mixed colours or all the same as your alarms. It requires AA batteries and they can be cheap enough to get (Poundland are 10 for a pound). I love the fact you can also turn the volume off and have it just vibrating so if you want to be stalking or even on the sly no one will know. It gives you a warning too when the batteries are about to need changing. There are many accessories for the alarms and receiver from new roller wheels to pouches for the receiver. I wouldn’t buy any other alarms now. If you can get hold of these alarms have no doubt you know you will be getting quality.

I was in the market for a new affordable rod.
And as I've had Wychwood gear before and it had served me well I decided to go for these. I am the same as everyone, work on what I can afford and quality.
These are a lovely feeling rod with good weight distribution. Some people will prefer 50mm butt rings but I don't see the issue.

Had these rods about 10 years ago and well I'd do anything to have them back. They were slim but strong and slightly different to other rods as they had a slight blue look in certain light. There were light even with a reel on and could whack out a lead. I never had any problems with these rods that wasn’t down to me. If you get a change to get these DO they're worth every penny.

Kingfisher 6ft Rod £10
I got this rod for my little girl as I didn’t want to spend too much on a rod and her not to like fishing. Well luckily for me she does like it and for someone who is starting up this is perfect. It’s not that big so it’s easy for her to control where she's casting. It's lightweight which is good and she had a carp of about 6lb on it. Cheap but well worth it if you're starting up or as a spare in case you take someone else who doesn't care what they catch.

These little beauties have taken fishing to a new level, the spomb is a very simple idea that works. You can get different sizes and colours if you require and have made spodding so much more easier and less messy. I do own one of these and would recommend them.
I know people have had the odd issue with the little clip snapping or coming loose so keep a eye out for that.

JRC Cocoon Recliner Armchair From £75
After using the JRC recliner chair for about 10 years, it was time to treat myself to a new one.
I decided on a JRC Cocoon Recliner Armchair, and I am as happy with it as I was with my old chair. Starting from the ground up it has wide mud feet which gives it great stability, especially on wet & muddy ground and just like most chairs it comes with adjustable legs which gives an even and solid base especially on uneven ground.
The seat and backrest are well padded and very comfortable and with the addition to the arms gives a whole lot more to an already comfortable chair especially on a long session.
An all round comfortable chair and at a reasonable price around £70, you will not go far wrong with this piece of fishing equipment whilst on the bank.

Wychwood Solace Rucksack From £40
I needed a rucksack. I used bags for years but as I was getting more and more gear, carrying it was getting a bit of a ball breaker.
I already had Wychwood gear that had served me well so I had no reason to think the quality would be any less in this, and I was right.
Sometimes it's hard to pick my bag up it's that heavy and this has stood up amazingly well to that. I cannot fault it at all and I would massively recommend it. It's been battered on banks, dropped, had scissors and knives in it and there's not one rip or tear. It has an inside pocket, two side pockets and one pocket at the front that unzips all the way around which drops forward.
It's a little expensive I guess and you could find one cheaper but for me it's been brilliant.

Korda IQ £7.99
Something that Korda have got right. This is in my opinion is the best flurocarbon to use for zig rigs. I've used this as a 15ft zig and worked well as I caught a 25+ carp on it, so I would def recommend.

Gardner Hydroflex from £2.99
Gardner are probably best known for their rolling machines which have always been good so I thought I'd try their other products. This is a stiff link and a lot thinner than a product like Korda IQ. I'd probably suggest this stiff link for lighter baits, such as for a zig rig. For the price, amazing value.

Carp Linq Hooklink Braid £2.99
This comes in a handy little box which also dispenses and cuts the braid very easily (much like dental floss). This is olive green and is also fast sinking. It is very easy to tie into your chosen hook link. It's extremely thin braid but amazingly strong and for the price just ridiculous really as you get 20 metres.

Drennan Super Specialist Micro Braid £4.90
Although this braid is only 12lb, it is actually a lot thicker than some of my 15 and 18lb braid. I'm assuming that's for the weight to make it fast sinking. This is made up of two different colours of braid woven together which can cause fraying when cutting so make sure your braid scissors are super sharp. Even so it easy to tie your hook links and for the price you can't grumble.

ESP 25lb Sink Link £7.99
Comes in a very handy little box, which dispenses the braid easily. The trouble with the cutter of the dispenser (especially with the 25lb braid) is that it isn't any where near sharp enough to give a clean cut which is a pointless exercise as you will need to clean the end up with a pair of braid scissors. Also, if you pull out too much braid you have to open the box up and rewind the braid on manually which is bloody annoying. Like the Drennan Super Specialist, this is made of two different colour braids woven together which again causes fraying. If I was given both products in the same poundage, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Kryston Snake Skin
Stiff but pliable hook link with a very strange coating that although can be removed, leaves a very flimsy, frayed, what looks like individual white cotton thread. Would very much advise not to remove the coating and use this as a normal hook link as I don't think it is stiff enough to use as a zig rig and to be honest for the price I'm very disappointed.

Korda Supernatural Sink Braid
Mine is Weed Green. Comes in a round, plastic container which is easy to dispense but has no cutter unlike the ESP and Carp Linq. A very soft, easy to cut, pliable braid to form even the most awkward of hook links but as with everything Korda VERY expensive and there is braid out there that can do the same for half the price. I feel if this didn't have the Korda brand name attached to it, it wouldn't do as well as it has done.

DYNAMITE BAITS XL LIQUID ATTRACTANTS From £5
Flavours include:
Worm/Betaine Pellet/Halibut Pellet/Sweet Molasses/Predator/Strawberry/Scopex/Brasem/
Pineapple/Tutti Fruitti/Coconut/Red Krill
These are the original and in my eyes the best. You know what you're getting with this stuff and I know people will be saying what about Korda goo but a lot of lakes are banning this product from their lakes so if you want a alternative this is it. Stuff bloody stinks and works. I've used it for years and for the price it's well worth having in ya box.

Fox Zig System from £2.49
This has taken zig fishing to another level really. It's quite simple, you put a sleeve over your hook that has a little hole in the rubber, then you slip a bit of rig foam to your desired size and colour. I used this system at Linear fisheries and had a 28lb common so it does work.
I wouldn't say it's over expensive either I'd say its about right for what it is.
What I would say is it can be a bit fiddly to get the sleeve over ya hook and does take a little patience.

Hemp Seed Virgin Oil
I love hemp oil. I've always used hemp oil by injecting it into my PVA bags regardless of their contents. It does a number of things by doing this i.e. One, it's a major attractant to the fish. Two, it leaves a lovely slick on the surface which enables you to see where you are fishing and three, it's cheap and easy to use. I honestly believe that this method has been the difference between a blank and me catching on certain lakes and if you are lucky you can pick this up cheap. Luckily, you have a link to find it :)

Hemp Seed
As with the above review, hemp seed is very under-rated and should be used more and can be picked up relatively cheaply. I'm sure people are put off by having to cook it but there are plenty of quick and easy ways to do this.
Fill a large Thermos flask half full of uncooked hemp seed, filling the flask with boiling water and leaving over night.Ta-da! Prepared hemp seed!

Korda Goo £11.99
This product is very effective. It smells great and has a bright pink colour (and keeps it's aroma) even after hours of being in the lake. It's great for adding into PVA bags and also good for putting in the funnel webbing as it is PVA friendly which is always a good thing. It can also be put into a spod mix. It comes in a variety of flavours and colours. Well worth the money.

Another under-rated bait that should be carried by all Anglers, course or carp. Again, another bait that's been used for years and works, especially if you are on a budget. Can be lethal when combined with hemp in a spod mix as well as main bait.

Does this work? Well yes, this does work and it works amazingly well BUT the design has been in use for years in many different forms especially in the medical profession (used for crushing tablets etc). There is different crushers out there that will perform the same job and are a lot cheaper but as this is a product review and the whole idea is to find out if the product works. Yes, yes it does.

Korda Kutter from £10
Measuring about 6 inches long with a single blade at the bottom, the Korda Kutter cuts boilies into halves and quarters. Made of a very robust plastic, this product is very well designed although there is one flaw. On the plunger there is a notch on one side that is designed to lock the plunger in place but for whatever reason, if you push the plunger down in the opposite direction (which is very easy to do), the notch snapped off This doesn't detract from the use.

Mainline Cell boilies From £12 per kg
These Mainline boilies are one the best I’ve used. They smell great even after hours of being in the water as I tested it at home in a bucket. Caught plenty on them too. I like to trim some off so they're slightly different to the freebies and also let’s more of the scent out.
Overall pucka bait and well worth getting.

Theseus Carp Cradle From £25
I had a look about for a bigger unhooking mat and found that some of them are silly prices. Why? They all do the same job. Yes, they need to be padded and yes, of a reasonable size.
I found this one for £25 and it has been brilliant. I've been to some right narky lakes where they check every bit of gear and not once been pulled up. Although a friend did with a brand name mat which was more expensive so there's bargains out there people and this I'd recommend .

JRC Specialist Landing Net £37
Having had my net chewed by the dog I had to go out and get a new one. I opted for the JRC Specialist Plus One as it was the cheapest in the shop and almost the price of just the net, I wasn’t expecting much but was rather shocked about how lightweight it is. It comes with a 2 piece handle, plastic spreader block and green netting. The arms look strong too. It comes with a bag for the netting although it's not 100% waterproof, it does keep some of the smell away which is always a plus on the way home.

Method feeder moulds from £2.50
There are a lot of these out in all different sizes and makes but essentially they are all the same so don't be fooled by getting a brand name at silly prices. It's a simple concept which has made method feeding a lot simpler it does take a little practice to get it spot on.
Just make sure your mix isn't too dry. If it is add a tiny bit of lake water and try again. It's a system that does work and should be included in any tackle box.

I can imagine some people might get narky about the different bits you have to put together but for me it's not really an issue. I'd def say at least have a look at this over some of the silly priced alternatives.

Wychwood Rouge Rod Pod From £40
I had this pod for many years and this is a toughie really coz there's so many good points and a few bad.
It's lightweight and comes in a lovely carry case for easy transportation. It folds up and down very easily, just unwind the two main bolts at either end and it folds down nice and neat.
The problem I had with it was it was too light. I've had a couple of occasions where my rods were sitting on the pod and the line ripped off and my pod went with it, not good in the heat of battle and for £40 there are definitely better pods out there.

fox quatro pod From £150
This pod was due to an upgrade.
It can be used as a pod or a goal post set up, I preferred using it as a pod as it was stable and could be used on uneven ground too, when i used it as a goal post i found it hard to get the sticks back in to use as a pod again.
It was just the right weight and never tipped over they come it 2 or 3 rod.
The accessories for this product are the back lead bar, when the rope of the back lead would go a certain distance and so you would never lose one as you could pull it back in. It came in its own bag that was well padded too Over all a well thought out product

Nikon Coolpix L810 from £99
This camara comes in 3 lovley colours, gun metel grey, a dark blue and a vivid red.
The Nikon COOLPIX L810 is a 16.1 MP digital camera with a 22.5 mm to 585 mm wide-angle NIKKOR lens that proves beneficial in capturing vast landscapes or crowds even from a short distance. With a 26x optical zoom, the Nikon COOLPIX L810 brings distant objects twenty-six times closer without losing out on the sharpness. This Nikon digital camera also records high-definition videos in 720p resolution to deliver a true-to-life footage.
The lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function in the Nikon COOLPIX L810 counters handshakes to rule out image blurs. This 16.1 MP digital camera features the Easy Auto mode, which optimally adjusts the settings to help you get the best possible results in any shooting condition. A lens with high ISO light sensitivity (up to 1600) helps this Nikon digital camera capture clear images even in low-lit conditions like indoors or night time.
With many camara's they talk a good game on their zoom function and how easy they are to use, but in reality is a massive let down, not this camara yes it takes a little practice to get the right shot and you do have to have a steady hand but if you get it right its truly amazing.
There are so many different features on this camara and with time and practice you will get the hang of it, for the price im amazed why people would go out and spend £500 when this camara is just as good at £99 id recommend this camara to anyone, please see below of the pictures i have taken with this camara in various formats to show you vivid colours, at distance, up close, those quick take a pic moment etc, please be aware im a complete amateur the same as all of you
