Hello and what a cracking month for fishing here at Tanyards with the Catfish well and truly on the feed and a massive head of big Carp out. Many anglers have smashed there personal bests, it really has been a great start to the fishing season.
SPECIMEN LAKE 1:
With the warmer weather bring the Carp to the surface and on the on the feed Jordan Winter broke his personal best with a stunning 25lb fully scaled mirror Carp, Peter Gosley landed a 19lb Common, Jake Mellor has a beautiful 25lb Common on a day session, Seb Taylor landed a 23lb Mirror on his overnight session, Adam and Warrens session saw them land three Carp from their session a lovely fully scaled Mirror and two Mirrors all upper teens, John Cooper bagged a 14lb Mirror Carp on his session.
SPECIMEN LAKE 2:
This month Speci lake fished very well with resident biggy "Shoulders" falling fail to Max Levett weighing in at 31lb 1oz, Stuart Carey landed a cracking 28lb Common and a 25lb Common while son Charlie banked a 16lb Mirror and a impressive looking 26lb Mirror, Martin Chappell broke his PB less than half hour after starting to fish with a 24lb Mirror Carp, he also landed a 21lb 12oz Mirror, Scott Moore managed to bank a 24lb Ghost Common on his day session while son Alex caught known fish "AppleSlice" at 22lb and a 19lb Common. Dominic Poole landed three Carp on his two day session, the biggest a 28lb 8oz Common, a 26lb Mirror Carp and a 24lb Mirror Carp, another great session. Neil Budd landed a 26lb Common early morning on his session, Scott Ridley banked a 23lb 14oz Mirror after moving swims on his visit, a good decision having landing such a stunning fish. Carl managed to stalk a 24lb Mirror Carp out on an afternoon visit. Tom Wilson winkled out a lovely 23lb Mirror on a day visit. Andrew Lees broke his PB landing a 27lb 3oz Common Carp.
SPECIMEN LAKE 3:
Well the Catfish are awake and out in force. Jack Say on his first session Cat fishing managed to bank a monster 60lb 8oz Catfish and landed a 55lb 2oz Catfish the following day. A massive well done to the young angler, he also had a 26lb Common on a following session. Shwan Majid joins the 30+ carper beanie elite after landing a lovely 30lb Mirror Carp. Also a member of the 30+ carper Elite is Ollie Roney after landing a 31lb Common Carp, he has also managed to land a 45lb Catfish. Good angling from the youngster. Martin Small is also a 30+ member landed a 31lb 6oz fully scaled Mirror Carp a truly stunning fish and a big well done to Martin. Lewis Richards banked four impressive Carp after travelling down from Birmingham for the bank holiday weekend the biggest was a 29lb Common with a 28lb 8oz Mirror, 24lb Mirror and finally a 17lb 8oz Common. Good angling Lewis. Rick Staplehurst landed two Catfish a 46lber and a 24lb as well as a 14lb Common Carp on his day session. Joe Page broke his personal best after landing a truly stunning Mirror Carp at 27lb 8oz, Tahnee Staplehurst stalked a 17lb Common and an 18lb Common on a day session as well a banking a 40lb Catfish on a previous session. Mason Kelly had a 23lb 3oz Mirror Carp, Mandy Worrall landed a 21lb 11oz Mirror Carp, Ollie Connaway broke his PB with a 52lb Catfish. Dean Hinselwood smashed his PB after landing a 55lb 3oz Catfish on the tail end of his visit. James Moore broke his PB after a tactical swim change bagging a 42lb 5oz Catfish. Stuart Cornford also broke his personal best Catfish an the first lump we had out this year which weighed in at 47lb. Rob Walker managed to land a 16lb 8oz Common on an overnight session while brother Dave had three Commons a 19lb 8oz, 19lb 5oz and a 15lb 5oz.
COARSE LAKES:
All the Coarse Pool have been fishing really well, the smaller Catfish have started being caught more frequently from both Coarse Pool 2 and 3. The Carp have been well and truly on the feed with many an angler banking multiple catches with a variety of species. Danny Chira has had a few visits this month with cracking results. Ollie Roney's night session saw him have spells of multiple catches and some double takes in occasions. Carl and Alex were down attempting some surfaces fishing with great results. John Alliston was among the Carp with a lovely couple of Mirror Carp. The Carp free pool has seen a good head of Tench and Bream being caught. The Perch have been slightly harder to get hold of this month with a head of around 2lbers are putting in random appearances. Bob Bishop landed a stunning 4lb 6iz Ide/Chub Hybrid, Jonny Watt have had a few afternoon sessions banking multiple Bream with some ample sized Tench.
SHARON'S CAFE is now stocking the Mainline range with shelf life and freezer Boilies now available. We now have an automatic gate and opening times will remain the same 7am - 7.15pm.
