Although the winter period has finished, Spring like weather has been slow arriving. Much of the past four weeks has been wet and unusually cold with northerly winds but several PB’s have now been broken. The Carp have started showing in growing numbers to 24lbs 8ozs while the Catfish have begun to stir after their winter dormancy including 8 x 30lbs+ and 2 x 40lbs+.
LAKE 1:
(Carp) - Rob Prout had Mirrors of 14lbs 7ozs and 16lbs 12ozs. Returning Rob landed all Commons weighing 10lbs 1oz, 11lbs, 14lbs 15ozs and 16lbs 8ozs. Steve Bedford landed Commons of 17lbs and 11lbs and Mirrors of 10lbs and 2 x 17lbs 8ozs. Nigel Loft landed a 16lbs 2ozs Common and a 8lbs 8ozs Mirror. Mike Brown landed Commons of 16lbs 7ozs and 11lbs 1oz while colleague Adam Robinson had Mirrors of 15lbs 5ozs and 9lbs 2ozs. Daniel Selby’s catch included Commons of 19lbs 11ozs, 17lbs, 12lbs 2ozs and 10lbs 1oz plus Mirrors of 19lbs 9ozs and 13lbs 8ozs. Chris Taylor landed all Commons weighing 9lbs, 11lbs 4ozs, 12lbs 3ozs, 12lbs 6ozs and 19lbs 2ozs to top the Carp Leader Board. Returning Paul Coombes landed 6 x all Commons including 10lbs 2ozs, 10lbs 4ozs, 12lbs 8ozs, 16lbs, 16lbs 12ozs and a PB 21lbs 9ozs to top the Carp Leader Board. The following day Joe again went better twice with Cats of 35lbs 10ozs and 37lbs 1oz to again head the Catfish Leader Board. To complete his session Joe also landed a 15lbs Mirror. Mick Rogers landed a 12lbs 6ozs Common. Pat O’Sullivan was rewarded with a total catch weighing 116lbs 1oz. Joe Babbage had a good mixed bag including Perch, Bream and Carp. Returning Fred Rosier had a PB 2lbs 1oz Perch and a 4lbs 7ozs Tench to head the Tench Leader Board. Fred Graham again had a good mixed bag including 4 x Carp, a 2lbs 1oz Tench, a 3lbs 9ozs Bream, 3 x Roach and 5 x Perch. Phil Platt had a great mixed bag including a 8lbs 8ozs Mirror, a 6lbs 4ozs Common, a 5lbs 4ozs Tench, 5 x Perch, 4 x Roach and 2 x Bream. Another PB for Fred Rosier when he caught a 10lbs 6ozs Mirror and a 3lbs 2ozs Tench while colleague Peter Parsons landed Carp from 2lbs to 9lbs 12ozs.
