Website
Located west of the junction of the A19/A172 in North Yorkshire, this three acre lake is the clubs main water and well known for its specimen sized fish and natural surroundings.
Originally a working clay pit and headquarters of the Tontine Brick and Tile Works in the 19th Century. In the early 20th Century, the site flooded leaving an expanse of water of similar size and shape as the lake is today.
This has resulted in The Tontine becoming the premier club-run specimen lake in the region - although we may be a little biased.
Whilst nets of small silver fish provide good sport it's main attraction is to those members wishing to catch larger specimens - especially the carp. Present lake records are Tench - 6lb 6oz, Carp (Mirror) - 25lb, Carp (Common) - 33lb, Bream - 10lb, Eel - 7lb 2oz, Roach - 1lb 12oz, Perch - 3lb 1oz and Pike to 10lb+
Facilities: 0/5
There is none. Considering they've a very good website advertising all great things they forgot the basics..shocking again, another lake that can't get the basics right for the average angler.
Quality of fishing: 2/5
As above, with the quality of facilities being poor it affects the day for the fisherman being uncomfortable, having nothing on site for the simple things. If you want to improve the overall experience, sort ya facilities out!
Disabled Facilities 0/5
From what I can see there is nothing in place for the disabled angler. This is a market that is becoming increasingly frustrated by the lake with its lack of facilities for the disabled. A massive improvement needed.
Fish Stocks: 3/5
They boast great fish in their lake with Carp over 33lb but as there is only a couple of decent fish in the lake people won't go. There's plenty of fisheries that boast plenty of 20s and this is lacking in decent stocks.

Overall: 3/5
Mixed feelings on the Tontine. Cracking lake but plagued with weed which is now being maintained. No direct route to the venue except through the farmers field which is a shame and no facilities.
