This month Mike Richardson shares a one of his top tips: When starting to fish have you found that your casting doesn't seem quite as proficient as usual only to discover that you've missed out one of the rod rings when tackling up? To avoid this in the future, having threaded the line through all the rings as you think, before tying on your favourite fly, simply take hold of the leader or the end of the line and put a slight bend in the rod.
